For this week in Bodies in Motion, and for my second Unreal environment, I decided to work with a poem that I’d written over the summer after waking up from a dream:
In my mind, this video capture shows just a sliver of the world I imagine. I’ve been thinking about virtual reality as poetry lately and so I want to really, really pay attention to the details — focusing on simplicity/clarity with the space/optics of the world with everything in it being there for a (conceptually sound) reason.
I’m still a bit uncomfortable with the OOP in Unreal’s Blueprints so I haven’t yet added some functionality that I wanted to. That will be in my next update. For example, I want to make the cuboid oceans into a particle system that slows down and freezes as you approach the glass wall. Until next time..
